The site, measuring 30'X50', is located on a bustling street in the commercial hub, Indiranagar, Bangalore. The client required an establishment with four separate rentable spaces for commercial purposes. The planning was kept simple with large column-less spaces to enable customization of interiors according to the tenants' requirements. Emphasis was given to the elevation design, as the location called for a striking facade that would grab the passers'-by attention amongst the hustle and bustle. Inspiration was taken from two large trees in front of the site, that frame the elevation. The form, tweaked and modified, led to the design of a concrete band in pure white, which curves elegantly and tapers as it reaches the ground. Additional bands in contrasting dark brown shades give a sense of visual balance. The grillwork behind the band has a leaf like pattern and completes the facade. The building looks especially iconic during the night when the groove in the band and the interior space behind the grillwork is illuminated.
